About me
Marisa Beckley has nearly a decade of experience in public defense. She previously held roles in client advocacy at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, where she supported people in civil, criminal, family, and immigration defense settings. Marisa holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, where she focused on vicarious traumatization, burnout, and how to improve organizational responses to the occupational hazards of social justice work. She currently works as Bronx Defenders’ first Director of Workplace Wellness. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Harvard University.
