About me
Anupama Vishwamitra recently stepped down from her position as the director of mitigation at the Office of the Georgia Capital Defender. She oversaw all trial-level death penalty cases in the State of Georgia for nearly seventeen years. She trained, supervised, and mentored mitigation investigators, consulted with capital defense teams around the nation, and presented on a variety of mitigation issues at professional conferences. Anu also taught Social Work courses at Georgia State University-Andrew Young School of Policy Studies and managed interns from several colleges and universities. She has decided to take a professional sabbatical and move to south Texas to be closer to her parents and extended family.
